“How can I do that?” you may be asking yourself. Great question! Well, we want YOU to be a part of our album artwork! Here’s what you have to do:
1.) Follow GOLD MOTEL (@goldmotel) on our official Instagram account.
For those of you unfamiliar with Instagram, or have yet to create an account, Instagram is a FREE photo-sharing application that allows users to take pictures, apply digital filters, and then share it through a vast array of social networking sites.
2.) Connect your Instagram account with your Twitter
This is an important step. This is how we’ll be able to see the specific pictures designated for us, and you can see all the other pictures Instagram users are submitting to us! You can easily connect your Instagram to your Twitter by going to your Instagram Account Settings and clicking “Edit Sharing Settings” and selecting “Twitter.” Easy schmesy!
3.) Post a photo on Instagram and include #goldmotelalbum and a mention to @goldmotel.
Take a picture that reminds you of GOLD MOTEL; the image you see when you close your eyes and listen to the music. Upload and post the picture through your Instagram account, and include the following # in the photo caption: #goldmotelalbum. Also, please include an @ mention to @goldmotel in the caption as well.
4.) Submit as many pictures as you want by Sunday, April 15th
The deadline for submissions is Sunday, April 15th. After that, the band will review all of the photos submitted and pick a handful to be included in the album artwork! The winners will receive photo credit in the album’s linear notes, as well as the opportunity to have their photo become a permanent part of our new album. Exciting!
5.) Tell all your friends!
We want as many submissions as possible, and we also want to have as many Instagram friends as possible. Post April 15th, we will continue to use the account to share private “behind-the-scenes” photos of the band, as well as browse through all of your awesome photos!
Here are a few submission rules and guidelines to follow. If you follow all of these you’re in the clear! Unfortunately, if you don’t, your photo(s) will not be eligible for consideration:
SUBMISSION RULES & GUIDELINES
1.) All submissions must be uploaded through Instagram and posted publicly through both your Instagram account AND your Twitter account.
2.) All submissions must include an @ mention to @goldmotel and contain the hash-tag #goldmotelalbum. Submissions without one or the other (or both) will not be eligible for consideration.
3.) Submissions should be of the highest resolution/quality possible. The better the quality, the better chance your photo has of getting picked.
4.) You can submit as many photos as you want, but all photos must be submitted by April 15th to be considered for use.
5.) Submitted photos will be evaluated based on their visual correspondence to the music of GOLD MOTEL.
